Viruses oh my! And new video!

We have had a minor snafu in the past couple days with a virus attacking the crap out of our office computer! So outgoing emails have been a bit delayed as we now have to re-install. If you don’t hear back from us by tomorrow please re-submit your email to us just in case!

99% of the unanswered emails are safe and we are responding asap! :)

And NO customer information is gone. So don’t worry!

Just a quick heads up since we are not in the office majority of the weekend: All remaining AX orders are going out over the weekend so expect to hear from us by Monday with tracking info. :)

While you wait to hear back from us take a look at our new video!

Yoshitaka Amano has worked in the industry since the mid 1960s starting his career as an animator. … He is well known as the character designer for the early final fantasy games, and was brought back to design for final fantasy 9 to give it the nostalgic appeal of the classic Final fantasy games.  He is also well known as a fine artist and has had gallery showings in Japan and New York, among other locations. He takes a lot of influence from American super hero and fantasy work and is well known and highly celebrated for his flowy gestural style and love of vibrant patterns across epically draped clothing!

Selected Character Design Works:
Gatchaman, Vampire Hunter D,  Final Fantasy I, II, III, IV, V, VI, IX

Hyung-Tae Kim is a designer from Korea. He started his career in the video game industry working in background music, eventually switching to design. He work is created mostly on the computer but he is known for his beautiful use of oil-like coloring and shading techniques.  Kim describes his own style as ‘exaggerated’, choosing to ignore accurate anatomy to enhance the feel and flow of the character. A lot of his characters feature garments and headdresses inspired from traditional Korean clothing with a fantastical twist.

Selected Character Design Works: Magna Carta, War of Genesis: Tempest, War of Genesis III and War of Genesis III: Part 2, the upcoming Blade & Soul

Tetsuya Nomura began his longstanding career with Squaresoft as a debugger for the Final Fantasy Series. He eventually moved to monster design, and eventually up the ranks to character designer.  Nomura perfers 3D renders to hand illustrations, and participates in the creation of the graphics in order to make sure his designs turn out how he wanted. He is known for being very stylish in real life, and his own love of fashion makes it way into his character designs. A lot of his characters have stylish hair styles and jewelry, and take influence from trendy urban street-wear.

Selected Character Design Works: Parasite Eve, The Bouncer, Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, Final Fantasy VII,VIII,X, XI, XII

The Project Soul Design Team has created designs for Soul Caliber that have always been quite complex and epic. The game is set in a fantastical version of Earth’s past, with characters from all around the world. Most character designs have an element of historical clothing from their country of origin, but bear sharply into the realm of fantasy … and skin showing! And we say that both for females and males, who can ignore Voldo’s notorious butt cleavage?

The team starts by deciding weapon, gender, and basic character details, and fills in from there. Once the details are in place the whole design is fleshed out by Aya Takemura or Takuji Kawano, the team’s concept artists. The 3D rendering for each character is a team effort, with a small group of people dedicated to working solely on the character.

Selected Character Design Works: Soul Edge and Soul Calibur Game Series

The Danny Clark Foundation

We were featured in Chicago Scene for costuming a burlesque number for a charity event. We were hired by the Danny Clark Foundation to provide a set of 9 burlesque costumes for an epic dance performance, which was the main point of entertainment for the evening. We also attended, saw the show with our own eyes, and met foundation members. Danny Clark is a famous NFL star, who runs a charity in his off time. You can learn all about it here: http://www.dannyclarkfoundation.com/home.html
